Map of Wonderland
Fact: Wonderland is real.
Fact: The "normal world" is real.
Fact: The two cannot exist in the same space at the same time without conflict.
Tidbits:
• Voracious reader (though his favorites have both pictures and conversations).
• Passably fluent in French ("Où est ma chatte?").
• Falls victim to frequent impulse and curiosity despite better judgement.
• Has a (rational?) fear of drowning, as he's never learned to swim.
• Does not enjoy gardening, weeding, or yard-work of any kind.
• At age five, somehow convinced himself that "Alec" was a misspelling of "Alice".
• Was inexplicably crushed when he learned the above was not actually true.
• Extremely distrusting of doctors, psychiatrists, and healthcare facilities.
• Hates the taste of pepper.
• His favorite toy (which he still owns) is a rattle in the shape of a turtle shell.
• Knows how to play an astounding number of card games.
• Often mishears and misinterprets words when his attention is wandering (drawling, outgrabe, horse-fly).
Duality:
Alec → Would get locked in a dark closet as punishment, invented an imaginary friend to cope.
Alice → Followed the White Rabbit down a rabbit hole, cried her way through a series of locked doors.
Alec → His father was a taxidermist, but his office was always leaking from a bad roof.
Alice → Met a number of odd animals that challenged her to a caucus race to dry off.
Alec → Would overhear his parents talking about his sister, who died before he was born.
Alice → Asked after her cat, Dinah. It only ended up scaring away the other creatures.
Alec → His mother would frequently ask him to fetch impossible things to get him out of her hair.
Alice → Was told to fetch the Duchess's gloves from her house, but wound up mistaken for an intruder.
Alec → His intense behavior in school led to his mother pushing for him to see a psychiatrist.
Alice → Met a blue caterpillar who had her eat parts of a mushroom to grow bigger or smaller.
Alec → Their neighbor had both a loud, unhappy newborn baby and a mischievous older son.
Alice → Found that the baby was just a pig, and that the grinning cat was actually quite nice.
Alec → Dragged along to massive family gatherings; was frequently picked on for being so quiet.
Alice → Stumbles upon a mad tea party where she is asked riddles, told stories, and generally insulted.
Alec → Was constantly pressured by his increasingly controlling, violent, and irrational mother.
Alice → Painted roses and played an odd game of croquet in an attempt to please the Red Queen.
Alec → Became acquainted with a couple he only later realized were social workers.
Alice → Was introduced to the Gryphon, who took her to hear the story of the Mock Turtle.
Alec → Found himself in the middle of a sudden divorce and quickly-escalating custody battle.
Alice → Attends the trial of the Knave of Hearts, though she herself feels wrongly accused.
Alec → Was taken away from his house and family and temporarily placed in the care of his friend.
Alice → Grows too big for the trial, knocks over the jury box, and wakes up from her dream.
