Canon: Alec is a grown-up, genderswapped (mostly) AU of Alice, primarily pulling from the original novels, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. I also take inspiration from several adaptations, such as the 1951 Disney film, American McGee's Alice series*, and this terrifying Czech stop-motion adaptation called Něco z Alenky. In general, I would like to apologize to Lewis Carroll for using his charming, clever books as a jumping-off point for a weird kid with anxiety issues and disassociation problems. I am garbage. Alec looks fairly unremarkable at a glance and is easy to overlook in a crowd. He’s of average height, has a scrawny build, and usually tries to take up as little space as possible. No matter where he is, he never seems entirely comfortable in his own body. He speaks quietly by default. His laughter is light and fleeting. He tends to fidget with his fingers and his mouth when he’s thinking. His hair is blonde and seems perpetually in need of cutting. He has blue eyes, and looks like he hasn’t slept well in weeks. He isn’t great at dressing himself, always putting on things that don’t quite match or clothes that are too big for him—which adds to the common misconception that he is much younger than his actual age. Despite everything he talks about, he gives off absolutely no feelings of magic and has no supernatural auras of any kind. He reads as a plain, boring, powerless human. ♠ Backstory. A lot of awful things happened to him and then they stopped happening to him. And then his own internal discordance kept ruining his life.
